Anyone remember this. I could go for a piece right now. I guess Kips is still closed

I remember that could use some now. But I always ordered mine with ice cream too.

We served a similar hot apple pie with cinnamon sauce when I worked at Oscars in the 70s. Many asked for us to put cheese on it.

My father liked it that way. The Haas family should reopen Kips and do it right. Back to the future decor and reinstall the charcoal grill.

When I was in high school (~1970) the Top Dog on Shattuck just south of University also had apple pie. I wonder if they, Kips, and Oscars all got it from the same bakery.

Apple pie with Cinnamon sauce was a staple both before and after basketball games. Sometimes Kips-would offer samples in front of Haas. Joe, the owner of Kips also went to womens basketball. The cheese, I am not sure about.

Mel's had a great deep dish apple pie with cinnamon sauce and it was ala mode. Late 50's and 60's.

I can't remember the name but there was a hole-in-the-wall restaurant on Telegraph just off Bancroft that served a fantastic apple pie with cheddar cheese slice and hot raisin sauce in the early 60's.
