It often looks like he's moving in slo mo, and effortlessly driving by more athletic defenders, not with quickness but with deception, using the defenders aggressiveness against them, much like in martial arts where you use the opponent's strength, aggressiveness, and momentum to their disadvantage. The hesi is often used to get the defender to relax for just a second to catch them off guard
Defending a player like this sometimes has you standing there staring as they hit a wide open shot because they put so much distance between you that there is no chance for a challenge. Other times you feel you will block their shot but they get it off anyway and score
