Source says the 76ers are set to hire @katetscott as the new play-by-play announcer, becomg the 2nd full-time female play-by-play voice for a major pro U.S. team. Bucks hired Lisa Byington earlier this month.

Congratulations to her. I know she has worked very hard to get to this point. I remember her dad coming on the board from time to time--and I remember Kate when she was a yell leader at basketball games.

The story that she was hired by the Sixers made the front page of today's Philadelphia Inquirer. This job will be challenging for her. First, I'm sure you've all heard about how awful Philadelphia fans can be. (I live in the area, and so I know full well about this.) Second, she will be succeeding Marc Zumoff, who is a legend because he has announced Sixer games for the past 32 years.
