The Bears have two games that will be televised on ESPNU (Jan. 19 vs. ASU, Feb. 9 at Oregon St.) and one game on FS1 (Jan. 6 vs. USC). Every other home game and conference game is on Pac-12 Network.

Glad I didn't buy season tickets. Except for one, every weekday home game is 7 p.m. or later. Too late to go and come from San Jose. If there's some glimmer of hope, I'll get Sling for the basketball season.

I think 7pm is really the only time that works for a weekday game. Any earlier and traffic can be prohibitive. Much later and you run afoul of cranky kids the next day. It's probably a mixed blessing that almost every game is on P12Network. Since very few people actually can access the network, it may force better attendance at Haas.

At this stage, CalmBbball should just be marketing to locals (i.e. give away tickets to local high schools, etc) to get anyone to come to a home game. Pushing alums to come from any farther is a lost cause if the team can't compete with other P12 or local programs.

Grass roots is what's left. Maybe a local successful high school coach can take a step up to Cal in the near future and resurrect a program that the AD has given up on.

I really think 7pm Friday is preferable to 7 pm Thursday, both for fans, players, students and potential television contracts.

Though this year there is an upside to not broadcasting our suckitude to the world by being relegated to the PAC-12 Network.

Yes, if you want in-person attendance, you need to go to a Friday-Sunday rotation, which is never going to happen because of TV. Basically the scheduling is for TV. I'll be approaching basketball the same as football, enjoying actually being able to go (if my wife will let me do something that's indoors), indulging my Top Dog addiction, and not stressing too much about results. Unless the early games indicate there's some glimmer of hope, I probably won't watch on TV.

In recent years most Pac-12 MBB games have been Thu-Sat and WBB games Fri-Sun. I presume the difference is to avoid conflicts. I think the Fri-Sun would be a lot better for the players since they wouldn't miss as many classes. My work schedule is sufficiently flexible the days make no difference to me personally.

I think Friday -Sunday would be far better for TV. No major competition and Friday night PAC-12 could be a National game with late night viewing in bars and homes on the East Coast. What else is on the TV in a bar from 10 pm until closing on a Friday?

The Bay Area Friday PM traffic is so much worse than the Thursday PM traffic. But the bottom line is there are downsides no matter what day or time they choose.

Downtown Berkeley BART is very convenient for games at Haas

They could get more wins than the football team...

Football can only schedule one FCS team OOC, whereas basketball has a full slate of the equivalent.

The question is, who will win more PAC-12 games, basketball or football?

I like football's chances against Arizona and Colorado.
