yesterday's crowd was better, about 4k, but lottsa fans sat maskless, and not just eating / drinking, one of four or five maybe. often beaming proudly on the fan-cam.
anyways, going forward lightly attended women's games work better for us.

They dont have the personnel to enforce it. I have yet to see an usher anywhere but the main floor . I talked to an usher and he told me they ate having trouble getting workers. Who knows if this is true or Cal looking to save money since they know not many fans are going.

went Sunday and it didn't bother me so much because even though its an indoor venue, the small crowd had most groups at least 8 feet apart. I can see it being a bigger problem for Furd, Zona, and UCLA games.

Good moves. The Thursday AM women's game was sparsely attended, I thought distancing was comfortable even in the student section.

I don't care. Fully vaccinated and willing to take the risk.We have to learn to live with this and pick our spots. They do check to be sure everyone is vaccinated. If you are really concerned wear an N 95 masks as the others don't do much.

Good on you. If you're scared of getting sick then it should be your responsibility to stay safe and let everyone else live their lives like normal! Otherwise let us return to life as it should be.

If the pandemic had been a few years back, I would have been willing to risk it all to witness all of Wyking's record breaking 16 consecutive losses that took place at Haas….but I draw the line there.

One solution might be to just mask up and go planning on sitting in the nosebleeds. You should be able to socially distance all season. I think it is easier if that is your plan all along.

Whether you sell or donate your seats and buy cheap seats, or just enter with your tickets and head to the nosebleeds is up to you.

Best wishes and Go Bears!

Well, CJay, you're not really encouraging me to come out.

I haven't actually made it to a game yet -- do I really want to go to an indoor sporting event with a less than inspiring team, and, so far, less than inspiring opponents? I renewed the tickets in July when it looked like things would be pretty good pandemic-wise by this late fall/winter. Maybe not so much. At least we have vaccine and masking requirements, but maybe the masking requirements are not followed.

There was a 20% chance I'd go tomorrow, I'd say that after your post, it's down to about 8%. But I'll probably get there eventually this season.

Not many people going but I have enjoyed every game. Eat before you go as concessions are hot dogs only.no chicken, no pizza. Usually only downstairs open. Mustard i these tiny packets. No peppers for nachos.

The Santa Clara game tomorrow will be my third this season. I'm glad to be back in the Haas! My buddies and I are high-fiving like it was 2019 (we are all recently boosted).

That's exactly what I've done at every game so far, and I feel quite safe. And that's what I'll be doing tomorrow night.

I know this expectation might not be realistic, but perhaps for tonight's game vs Santa Clara, a slightly larger crowd will be expected and the AD will increase their game staff accordingly, thus a little easier to enforce the mask mandate.

This will be my second live game of the season. For all the *****ing that was done on the football board concerning Berkeley's stringent covid policy, anyone who is concerned about safety must agree that they are making it as safe as possible to attend the game.

Not trying to be political but its a simple formula. Be vaccinated, get the booster, and mask up with others doing the same. The stats show that doing that minimizes the health danger to almost that of normal. Go Bears!

OD, a lot of us who need to cross a bridge find the midweek commute traffic a pain. This being a Saturday with Santa Clara being a decent team might mean a bigger attendance than OSU, and I believe school is still in session. We'll see.

The full band was not there last game. They are asking for Alumni band help for the next few games.

The full band is never there for a baskebtall game. The Straw Hat Band attends, and the usual number of them were present for the Idaho State game earlier in the week.

We do that here and we have almost eliminated the virus, only 4 cases yesterday.

We went to a huge outdoor Christmas celebration last night with light displays, rides for the kids, bands, dancing, food trucks, craft vendors and huge crowds. Everyone was wearing masks.

Actually it was quite a small Straw Hat Band contingent. Only one Sousaphone if I recall correctly. And you know what, there was a Straw Hat Band group at Walnut and Vine across the street from Peet's playing Christmas carols this noontime. Very entertaining!

Been in Canada for week now (Toronto, Montreal, Quebec City). All restaurants and hotels check vaccination cards and IDs and I mean they actually look at them. Events (Outdoor Christmas market in Toronto for instance) also require phone numbers for contract tracing. Everyone wears masks indoors, including in the underground city areas. Furthermore, 79% are fully vaccinated and have about 60% less cases and deaths than California with the same population. Different world I guess.

Only pansies "win" by hiding behind masks. And don't get me started on the vaccines. We have freedom! If the Canadians are so damn tough, let's see how their masks and vaccines help them when we TAKE THEM OVER! And I would, too, except for I hear too many of them speak French. Who the hell needs that?!?

Heh, as a fellow Canadian told me (visiting from BC), 95% of Canadians do as we are told, the other 5% move to the US.

Stanford is playing pretty good basketball. I watched part of the game and everyone there was wearing masks. Plenty of good seats. Upper levels empty. I wouldnt go but the hard core seem to be going and filling up the lower levels.
