Use of the word "outbreak" in these days when the majority of the state is vaccinated = sure sign of Covid fear porn

Did you read it? Twelve people in the county tested positive, all of whom had attended a wedding in Wisconsin, at which there was one person who had traveled internationally. Five of the 12 SO FAR are known to have the omicron variant. Sounds like an outbreak to me. Fortunately all of the individuals are vaccinated, most boosted. And none is elderly. Their symptoms are described as mild. And my guess is that if there are this many known cases here there may be many more not yet known.

What this has to do with Washington's basketball team forfeiting to UCLA, I don't know. Probably nothing. But I wonder if the Washington coach is asking the UW administration, "Who's fighting for US?"

But seriously, it appears omicron spreads much more easily than even delta. We still don't know if omicron causes more severe disease than previous variants, and if it can reduce the vaccine's ability to prevent severe disease and death. Let's hope not. And let's all take precautions. Please wear your masks in indoor gatherings.

"Outbreak": the sudden start up of fighting or a disease.

Synonym: "flare up"
