I blame the CoB.

I read that over 70 college basketball programs have had to pause their season at least once this season. Good for Cal that hoops has managed to avoid that so far, but things can change at any moment.

Seems like it's easier to keep a basketball team in good order.

We didn't miss a game last year. None so far this year. It is possible that Fox has instituted some strict protocols that have kept the team safe. Half the pac12 teams are not-managing it as well.

Must be the coaching as the women are in Covid trouble.

Weren't there reports that the basketball team got covid sometime in the off season?

Get vaxxed, have covid 'chicken pox' party before season, get super immunity?

But in all honesty might not be the best idea to tempt fate. Or that CoB with their out of the box rules and penchant for actually trying to enforce them.

The women went home for the hollidays. And you know how that goes.

Coach Fox may have great protocols. But with vaccines mandatory for students, low rates on campus and low rates in the community, the team is less likely to have outbreaks than some of their competitors. Plus it seems like there was some covid before the season started, which is good timing.

With omicron so prevalent it will be difficult to prevent an upcoming outbreak.
