He's been a bit of a pissy little punk for a while.
Last year he got into it with Turgeon at Maryland.

He should be banned for the rest of the year.

It seems he didn't like the opponent calling a timeout so their scrubs could run an organized play. IMHO that's no cause for even words in the post-game handshake line.

Howard's excuse was probably something like he did not appreciate Wisconsin "disrespecting" him and his team by calling the "time-out", or something similarly juvenile. Won't happen, but Michigan should fire Howard.

That's exactly what he said in the postgame press conference. Even if there was more to it, JH should obviously
have MUCH more control than that. Michigan is now 14-11. They have 5 more regular season games
remaining.....3 against Top 20 teams.

Wisconsin had their scrubs in and we're having issues getting the ball past half court before 10 seconds. I think one scrub had an issue with his shoe. Coach called timeout, which resets the 10 seconds.

JH while quickly handshaking, started walking past Wisconsin coach and said something. Wisconsin coach physically stopped JH to emphatically explain why he called the timeout, JH put his fingers pointing in Wisconsin coach's face. Wisconsin coach appeared to be frustrated but continued arguing/defending his action. As a security guard moved Wisconsin Coach away, a Wisconsin assistant came forward yelling at JH while people, including this assistant, were separating Michigan people from Wisconsin people. JH was behind some players. JH gets mad at something the assistant says and runs around a player haymakers the assistant coach and all hell breaks lose. Afterwards, JH blamed the coach for the timeout and for escalating the situation by touching him when it was just supposed to be a verbal altercation as he walked by.

He would already be fired if he coached here.

Honestly, give me a break coach. Some of the "unwritten protocol" in sports goes a bit too far. Wow, a timeout. What a traumatic experience that must have been for his players. I'm sure it would have scarred them for the rest of their lives.

Grown man throwing a blow with thousands of witnesses should have been arrested. Way worse than that idiot UCLA kid who spit at the crowd and got arrested in AZ.

Of course, the Ucla kid was returning the saliva that had been delivered all night.
Coach Howard sent a sucker-punch to a uWisky assistant coach whom he thought was verbally abusing uM players and assistant coaches.

Coach Howard will resign and the Whisky assistant will be dismissed.

We don't need Bozeman II. It's odd because Juwan seems very gracious and classy normally, but he may have some anger management type issues, which is not that uncommon esp in sports.

I'm Dennis Gates or Todd Golden all the way. And Todd Golden is a distant second for me.

Btw what about the kicker almost kicking a player? If that wasn't Cal and if that was today, he would have been fired.

I wouldn't call it a "haymaker". More like an "open-hand shove to the head". Still, a bad, bad move and should maybe cost him his job, or something approaching that. He was pathetic in the press conference, explaining about the TO, as if that justified it.

That's good enough, I think. especially since, when that happens, does the guy even return after that? And if they don't want him anymore, I believe that could be "for cause".

I didn't have a poor opinion of Howard before (limited info). I hope he is able to get control of himself and resurrect things.
