I heard such good things about him in HS and the Oakland Soldiers.

Unfortunately, he's had an extremely tough year on the offensive end, in fact I'm trying to recall a Cal player who was less adept at shooting.

The people who told you either had never seen him play or don't understand basketball.

He is a great athlete, tries hard and could possibly play a Gary Payton II on the Warriors role if surrounded by the right teammates. But his teammates are basically all role players too. Someone has to score.
