He knew he couldn't get admits that he did at Nevada, and from what I know, he used Cal to get a better deal at UNR. He really never wanted the Cal job after he learned more about how he'd be hog tied.. Same goes for Randy Bennett, who also didn't want to deal with the Cal business of athletics....

Cal is not a desirable job. Word out now that even Dennis Gates was not interested.

Word from Fox's agent or CYA from Knowlton.

It is like your tenants trashing your property then convincing you that no one but them would want to live in such a dump. If they can lose enough while playing boring basketball to get attendance down below 1,000 then it will be "Cal students and fans just don't support basketball, what can we do?"

Cal athletics incompetence is laughable. The story never changes. Christ needs to go and Knowlton should apologize for the state of all of athletics.

Absolutely. And "snake oil" suggests he is selling false goods. The dude is clearly not. He can coach.

The first time he was rumored, I didn't want him based on a lot of what he did when he was the Kings coach. But I realize now he was young and made mistakes. That team is very well coached and we would be lucky to have him.

Not the high water mark, but at least we had three McDonald's All -Americans (with a 4th transferring in) went undefeated at Haas, got our highest seed since going to 64 and finished ranked, despite the set of bizarre circumstances and bad luck at the end resulting in a first round flame out.
