Started thread only to post a photo of my favorite athlete to attend Villanova:
Eamonn Coghlan

Me and a buddy went to the Kinney Invitational Track Meet at Edwards in 1983. The signature event of the meet pitted Eamonn Coghlan of Ireland versus America's top miler at the time, Steve Scott. My buddy took this shot with a telephoto lens:


At the point in the race photo was taken, Scott was in the lead, Mike Boit (Kenya) in 3rd, Coghlan 2nd to last and Ray Flynn of Ireland last. Coghlan won.
