Rod has a column in SFGate today on his memories of participating in The Dance. Nothing particularly remarkable, but an mildly interesting read I guess.

But! He reveals a fight he had in practice:

t was the little things, really. Like: The NCAA tournament was the first time I'd ever even heard of an "open practice," a light practice strictly for media and fan purposes where strategy takes a back seat to exhibition. For an hour, all we did was show off while people cheered an absolutely magical memory. In fairness, during Cal's first open practice, a teammate and I did get into a fistfight over absolutely nothing, but no one seemed to mind since we were both 6-foot-10 and 130 pounds, so we probably looked mostly like two tangled octopus legs. My second media practice was just pure fun. It was essentially a dunk contest that was attended by media and scouts we all assumed were important. It was a proper welcome to March Madness.
Benson Column

Who could he have fought that was 6'10" and skinny like Rod? DeVon Hardin? He wasn't skinny and my memory of DeVon was somebody who you would never want to fight. Jordan Wilkes? He was 7'. I presume some literary license here.

Yah you could never call Hardin skinny. Had to be Jordan Wilkes unless he's calling Eric Verniesel 6'10".
