Just curious. Anyone have any proof?

Actually or figuratively?

Checks keep getting cashed.

So that's a yes.

Feel like that could definitely be related to a "weekend at bernie's" situation.

It could be going to his estate.

I heard Knowlton is working on a post-mortem extension

We have no hope this year again - a telltale sign he is alive and well.

If the program is still rudderless and without momentum, yes, he's still around.

If the Bears suck and Fox is the coach and nobody is there to watch it- does Cal Basketball exist?

What does the Fox say? No one knows.

Reading this thread, I am detecting a whiff of pessimism about the current state of California Basketball.

I dunno about Coach Fox, but it does appear to me that Cal Basketball is dead.

Using the term "dead" implies gone, can't ever come back (afterlife notwithstanding). I categorically reject that Cal Basketball is "dead". If the right things were to happen, the program could be turned around in two years or less. Cal Basketball is "very sick, with a chronic illness".

You know what Cal should do?

They should start having a bunch of intramural tournaments inside HASS.
Get the student body psyched about hoops again.

Let's have the dorms compete in Haas. Dorm Champs.
Let's have frats compete in Hass. Frat Champs.
Let's have random groups compete in an open division. Open Div Champs.

Then let's have an Elite Eight group of finalists play for the overall victory.

Then the overall Student Body (non hoops team) Champion gets a game vs the Cal Hoops team.

That might garner some attention on campus for the sports team, and put some fans in the seats.

That's just one small thing. I've come up with many proposals here over the years. None taken up. And look where the program is today.
If only they'd hire me.

I's say Cal basketball is in a coma. Self induced.

One can only hope that Cal basketball is "only mostly dead, not all dead," in the immortal words of Miracle Max from The Princess Bride.

How long is Knowlton's contract, again? Basketball is dead at least that long.

7 years, through 2029.

It COULD be all dead by then. Or division 2 if the SEC gets their way.
