Let me assure bearister that I am not sitting here, crying in my beer that Vanover didn't return to Cal. He looks terrible in that pic, like he ceased all S & C years ago. (To be fair, there were reports here that he had some sort of lingering illness or other "condition" at Arkansas.)

Looks like he will go down as the one individual who really flourished under Head Coach Wyking Jones. Takes all kinds.

He looks a lot like someone I knew (a friend/employee who was a Cal grad) with Marfan Syndrome. Tall, thin elongated limbs and face, loved basketball, could not gain weight at all. Died in his thirties of a related heart ailment.

Same thing happened to volleyball star Flo Hyman. I hope Vanover has been screened.
