I don't remember seeing this before. Could Grant be the surprise freshmen star?

What reports? There has been almost no info.Big C said:
By all reports thus far, he can play and will be in the rotation this season. Looks like a 4/3. When all is said and done, he may end up being the second-most renowned guy named Newell in Cal Basketball history!

As to Newell, I believe he did not play at all as a senior and did not show much in his post-grad year before getting injured and sitting out. Hopefully he is good, but there is no way to know now.
does it frustrate everyone else that there's close to zero infomation that comes out of fox's program. i think since the season ended, I've maybe heard 3-4 pieces of info from him. 1) we signed rodney brown and 2, 3, 4) we're going on a european trip and here's how the games went.Big C said:sluggo said:What reports? Well, I get all my reports from here, so "from Bear Insider". If I'm feeling ambitious, I will go back and cite them.
Okay, the phrase "by all reports" might have been a choice of phrase that exaggerated a bit, as if there were 8-10 "reports" or something. Maybe there have been 1-3 "reports" (talkin' about since the players started playing together in Berkeley... semi-supervised workouts / unofficial practices).
So, "report(s)". Totally agree that there has been a paucity of information coming directly from the program... for years.
He ain't gonna change now. He's basically got this season to make real progress or we should look elsewhere.eastcoastcal said:does it frustrate everyone else that there's close to zero infomation that comes out of fox's program. i think since the season ended, I've maybe heard 3-4 pieces of info from him. 1) we signed rodney brown and 2, 3, 4) we're going on a european trip and here's how the games went.Big C said:sluggo said:What reports? this is perhaps the one thing that fox can directly and immediately remedy by simply providing updates on the program. yet he does not.
There was the interview with Fox, which I discount because he sells whatever recruits he gets. There was the trip overseas, which was unreported upon by my standards, not even a boxscore. There might have been an inside post from 4thgen. But really, we have no idea what is going on.Big C said:sluggo said:What reports? There has been almost no info.Big C said:

Yes. It's insane.
If Jorge is a Cal legend, then Monty can say he too shoved a Cal legend, Allen Crabbe.Big C said:KenBurnski said:

Nowadays, the face-of-the-franchise piece is just part of the job. Full stop. We tolerated this same neglect with Montgomery because he was an old-school guy who could flat-out coach. With Fox, hey I'm sure he's a hard worker, but when he isn't out promoting the program and is also losing, it makes me feel like he's not earning his paycheck.
This is why I wouldn't object to Pasternack as our next coach (if that was the best we felt we could do). Maybe he's not the next Monty as a coach, but he's competent, he recruits and he would be working 24/7 to sell the program (I think). Okay, he kicked Jorge that one time, but who here can say they never, ever kicked a Cal legend?!?

another Grant video showing off his shooting
Grant shot well from 3 in the first Euro game, and he also is long and athletic
Hopefully his fundamentals are solid on both sides of the court
