The theme he keeps bringing up is that we are a more athletic and deep team. My worry is that this ie nearly verbatim exactly what he said before last season. I hope our shooting is improved because athleticism can only take a team so far, you need real basketball talent too.

17 minutes of BS and excuses. Lots and lots of excuses. The only question I wanted to hear his answer to was whether he would resign if the team finished in double digits again in conference.

So happy he put himself out there. This is something we should see on a regular basis. Hopefully the reporters will ask probing questions week after week as they do with Coach Wilcox

Fox has a lot to prove, to be sure. We might well be a little bit better, but can we be significantly better, to where we're nearing .500 in conference? Hey, maybe, but we're skeptical and understandably so, based on recent history.

He needs a speaking coach so he can deliver a clear, concise answer with confidence

As for his statements, he talks about size, athleticism and depth (maybe 9 deep) but also youth and balanced scoring

He also talked about rim protection and lateral quickness in the post

He says we have 4 PGs

His response to shooting was not very encouraging

I distill this as:

Okafor has the physical tools for a post defender 5, but is young and will be raw defensively

We have 4 PGs, none of which are strong shooters, so they need to be selective shooters to be efficient. It will therefore be difficult to put any at the 2 for more than spot line ups

Newell Grant is the big surprise and likely a starter early

Scoring will be challenging

Celestine may return late in the season

Mark Fox loves voluntary cooperation as much as Breaking Bad's Flynn loved breakfast. I've never seen him so electric.
