It's not needed in Cal Athletics - the most secure jobs on the nation reside here.

With the buyout he will have $10 million from Cal alone. That is on top of all the money Georgia paid him. He does not need to work another day in his life. He might even be eligible for pensions from both states.

But at least he has always been against the players getting anything. Which constitutes morality in some people's book (the guy who hired him getting $1 million a year in "amateur" athletics).

This doesn't cover the extension year:

" If Fox is terminated without cause, here's how much the university will owe him:

Year One: 100% of the base salary and talent fee for the remainder of the contract year in which the termination occurs.

Year Two: 100% of the base salary and talent fee for the next contract year

Year Three: 75% of the base salary and talent fee for the next contract year

Year Four: 50% of the base salary and talent fee for the next contract year

Year Five: 25% of the base salary and talent fee for the next contract year

If Fox terminates his contract with Cal, he'll owe the university the following:

Prior to April 30, 2020: $3 million

Prior to April 30, 2021: $2 million

Prior to April 30, 2022: $1 million

Prior to April 30, 2023: $500,000

*After today's game, Fox has 10 more to go to clip Wyking's record.
