For those anti-Cal folks that think the problem is due to inherent characteristics of the university rather than the few incompetent people currently in charge, this says it all:

From 1993 to 2016, Cal men's basketball reached 13 NCAA Tournaments, including two Sweet 16s. But in the five years since head coach Cuonzo Martin left for Missouri, the Bears have gone 51-113 (20-75 in Pac-12 play).

De-emphasizing IMO would be about 100 levels above where we are. More like de-stroying.

I once had a Statistics prof who said that if you got all of the answers correct on his multiple choice test, you got an A. And if you got all of the answers wrong on his multiple choice test, you also got an A, because the only way to avoid by chance answering something correctly, according to probability, you would need to know what all of the correct answers were.

It seems that the only way that a Cal basketball team could be this bad is if you were intentionally trying to destroy the program in order to de-emphasize big-time sports at the University. It could not be done by chance.

We are so bad that we should collapse the MBB board into the "other sports" board.

While I get the argument that the paper bag deal is insulting to the team, in this case, I'm really appreciative that those couple students made this public statement. This is the most media attention Cal basketball has received since Fox was hired. Who knows, maybe this will finally be the trigger that forces action from our negligent AD.
