It's time for the team to get the winless stink off of them. This Sun and Wed may be the only chance in late 2022 considering Utah is a sure loss and Colorado is only a maybe.
Looking at SC they have some quality wins and beat Eastern Washington. Beating them at home, nope, I'm going with Wednesday as the day we finally break through. Santa, bring me a W for Christmas!
Had to look it up, last W was 2/26 against the Furd. 291 days and counting!

Please no. Going winless in front of zero fans would be the prefect testament to the disaster Knowlton has wrought. The cherry on top of the sh-t sundae Jim made by hand. Maybe, just maybe, the light will go on somewhere and the right people will realize he has no business running a major college sports program.

If the team plays tough like they did against Arizona, then Bears will give the Broncos a run for their money and may paste a Cal 1st W on them. If not, Broncos will dump us.

Playing an 0-11 has to be nerve wracking. Nobody wants to be the first chump.

Come on HK, we can't root for a true winless season, think of the players. The national stories about it, the hoopla, the embarrassment no college player deserves that. At least with one or two wins it stops being a media oddity story, let's spare the lads a lifetime of being on THAT team.

The good news for you is we consistently mitigate the benefit of our entire team showing up by also bringing along our coach to every game and not firing him... so you guys still have a shot!

This is not on the players at all. NOT AT ALL. We could bring in a quality coaching staff tomorrow and probably win damn near half of our remaining games. See AZ game for proof. The players have nothing to be ashamed of, they are giving their best effort under the circumstances.

UT-Arlington at Haas is our best chance for a win.

Incredible that this is where we're at as a basketball program. Thinking we can get a win against a 4-7 WAC team. Not a sure thing, mind you, but yeah we can probably get into the win column.

First we beat Santa Clara. (Edit: Oops!)

Then we wallop Arlington-or-whoever-they-are. (Edit: Huge game now! Come out to the Haas! Wear a Firefox t-shirt, but come out!)

At some point, Clayton comes back and we even win some conference games. (Edit: He was suited up / warming up today!)

Not enough to save Fox though, so we get a better coach.

The new coach starts rebuilding. We get a practice facility.

The hundreds of fans who stuck it out through the worst times are rewarded with good feelings.

Here is my problem. I sprung for some really good chairback seats. I hate to give them up because they were hard to get. Few lower rows were available two years ago. Though none were available there is no one sitting near me. Part of the fun experience was talking to other fans. It was more fun in section 14 in the cheap seats. My son and friend wont go much so Ai am there by myself . It has become depressing and not fun. I have decided to not renew if Fox is not gone by renewal deadline. I already cancelled football season tickets in 2019 because of the night games after buying them since the 70,s

The worse part is I don't think Cal cares. I will be at Santa Clara today. Not sure why ,except friend bought the tickets months ago. Maybe they food will be good.

Disagree. A better coach can make us significantly better in two seasons. That starts the ball rolling. Plans for a practice facility advance. Things start to pick up steam, etc. Okay, maybe it's a 2-7 year crawl toward relevance.

Do we need "much more, much sooner"? That'd be nice, sure, but how's that gonna work, given our current situation?


EDIT: Okay, my plan is off to a stumbling start, as we just lost to Santa Clara. However, we simply keep going with the rest!

If we wanted to help the players, Fox wouldve been fired after last season. Instead the dumbazz Knowlton decided to give him an extension. Jim Knowlton brought this upon himself and we deserved to be shamed for going winless.

Joel was our most effective player today

he's improved his shooting form a lot. When he is set and has space like that he can hit that shot.

although he attempted a second 3 when he wasn't open with plenty of time remaining on the clock (not a good decision)

he was also 2-2 from the line

Nice shot.

His 3p% by year:
2019-20 .308 (8 of 26)
2020-21 .387 (12 of 31)
2021-22 .231 (6 of 26)
2022-23 .267 (4 of 14)

He made a decent percentage as a sophomore. The main thing is he does not look for his shot, attempting only 98 threes in 102 games, 73 as the starter. Hopefully he has confidence now.
