Apparently: https://www.npr.org/2022/12/17/1143791322/university-of-california-workers-deal-end-strike

Now the administration will have to find other reasons to avoid dealing with athletic issues.

This is a huge win. The tide is turning for labor in the usa, finally. The crackdowns are going to get stronger as there are more wins. What happened to the rail workers is a fine example. Can't give them paid leave because there simply aren't enough workers to facilitate it, so force them all to work with none. The UK is ahead of us on the crackdowns, but it's coming here, soon. We can't let it happen.

Our teachers and healthcare workers who got us through the pandemic and risked their lives, have been treated like cattle while the media heap praise on billionaires. Something's going to give, soon.

Glad to see the UC staff come together and take a stand. Starbucks and Amazon workers are gaining wins from coast to coast, too.

The strike and settlement certainly affected budgets and classes. That was mentioned in another thread, I would have replied there but I couldn't find it.

The California Teachers Association is the most powerful organization in the state (positions once held by the California Trial Lawyers Association and California Correctional Peace Officers Association). In many districts teachers earn over $100,000 and have full medical benefits for themselves and their families. Many continue to get benefits in retirement (for which they are eligible at 55). They also have generous pensions. Meanwhile, what has happened to the quality of education. Unfortunately, parents and students don't have a union.

Yes, they've been on a basket strike for the past 5 years.

The AD has his high priced consultants working on the next excuse.

Leading contender: "Until the PAC-10 media negotiations are over, we cannot fire Fox as it might alienate the network of the same name."
