I was looking to take the Grandkids to the game today. All I could find on the official site were $26. seats? Am I looking in the wrong place? I am guessing I can find a scalper better than that. Anyone have some recent experience to share?

Thanks,

I have seen that. $10. there, most of it going to fees. I would rather give my money to the University, but $26. for this game is LOL stupid. I guess I am just a bit dismayed that the AD does NOTHING to encourage people to bring kids to a game.

No, what's stupid is that they're not doing anything related to demand-pricing, so they can at least get some revenue. Anyone that's smart enough to have gone to Cal is not going to pay $26 for a ticket to watch an 0-11 team, when they can get one for far less.

I'm planning to take my daughter to a women's game in the New Year, where I at least have the hope of seeing some decent basketball played by a Cal team.

I was thinking, if we fired Fox and didn't hire another coach we could use his salary for NIL instead. $100k per player and even without a coach they couldn't do any worse than 0-30whatever. Maybe keep a few assistants as advisors or just can them too and add to the NIL. Bring back "2 baskets and a ball" in its purest form. If we could figure out a way to fire Knowlton too maybe we could just do AD by committee and cut out the middle man, giving us $2M+ per year for football NIL too. That'd be $100k per starter, or thereabouts.

So much different than years ago, when Braun and Campy (& Bozeman) would come visit schools and CYO programs and bring 20 group seats for the kids with the best grades or something. Womens coaches did that too. When Monty came along, I was at the end of my youth basketball involvement - so don't know if he continued that outreach or not.

It is clear that the current administrations action (or lack of action) is beyond ignorance or resources. This is a concerted effort to disconnect fans from Haas.

When you fire Mark Fox you're not saving his salary.
He gets it all. It is guaranteed.

I was just spitballin' 'cause it's a crazy idea and I know Cal would never do it, but yes I understand technically you'd still have to come up with Fox's salary and would save the salary for whomever you would've otherwise hired as his replacement. Who's the lowest paid MBB coach in the Pac? Quick search shows Smith at WSU for $1.5M. That same article says Fox is at $1.72M though. Both are higher than the $1.3M for Fox I've seen quoted here and was basing this daydream on. I have no idea how accurate any of it is.
