Can't tell if that is red or more of a pink.

But, frankly, I'm not surprised by anything anymore. This is a person in a position where, if the shoes are red, it is inexcusable.

When I was a Cal student, I painted the red script "California" at the top center on my car's California license plate blue. Why? Because those things matter. And I took pride in Cal and in not wearing red.

I guess nobody has a backbone anymore. This person should be given a warning and then, if it happens again, asked to leave the band.

Why do they get a warning? They woke up this morning having no idea that we don't wear red?

Exactly. But I suspect it's even worse than that... she probably feels entitled to wear those red shoes. 100+ years of tradition be damned. I'm sure she thinks, if she wants to wear red shoes, she should get to wear red shoes.
