Brown then lets Simpson let the roll the ball out to half court so no time comes off, then gives him a lot of room to make a 3. We just have a hard time winning games.
Omg we did everything we could to lose. Well they did great until the last 5 mins.

I think part of what happened was that Joel didn't want the ball too much because of his free throw shooting.

Grant 13 and 12 on 5-6 shooting. That's efficiency. His best game.

Clayton does appear to be the Shepherd replacement he was billed as. We might win a few more games as the players gain some confidence.

From across the court it looked like Fox was really micro-managing the show. As others have said I wish he'd let them play.
I'm just guessing here but I think Fox doesn't want Brown to push it or take many shots when Askew is playing. I don't blame Askew at all.

I personally didn't attend or watch the game today, and I didn't even think to follow it on stat tracker. I'm not sure I can think of a more meaningless win.
It will take much more than one or two "great" wins against mediocre competition to renew my interest. At this point, it will take a clear commitment to winning from the athletic department.

Fox on the post game noted that Clayton had never practiced the press break. A function of not having enough players to practice the break. And he had never played point. No excuses, but a fact of what happened. Makes sense of the late miscues against the press. I'm sure they'll be working on that as much as they can.

It would normally be a good Cal win. For this Cal team it is a great win. As much as I really want Fox gone, I root for the players more.
Back from the Haas: This one was a little hard to enjoy towards the end, but we got the win! Happy New Year to the Cal team!

He's got a good handle, and good court vision, and does pass well in the half court
however he made some bad bad bad passes in the trap, and made a couple more unforced bad passes in the half court, so maybe it's just that he needs to get the rust off. He also is adjusting to a step up in the competition.
Not fair to judge his too harshly this early (actually he looks like a hooper to me)

Great win! All 5 starters scored in double figured and the bench player didn't miss a shot. Too close at the end but still a great win over a good team. I like our two freshman Okafor and Newell. Brown has really upped his game lately; especially when Askew doesnt play. Both CALs wins are with Askew out. Fox needs to find a different way to use him. Joel needs to run the show.

I think Ben said he hasn't played in 2 years. I also noticed he has trouble taking it to the hole without getting blocked. I expect both those skills to get better with minutes. The shooting stroke is still there.
