This is ridiculous, Knowlton. Do it now. Now. Do your job; be a leader.

Attn Jim Knowlton

I realize this is your first experience in a power 5 conference. When your 3-18 basketball team loses by 30 to a terrible Stanfurd team, this is when you FIRE the Coach!!! Do your damn job! This is embarrassing

Thanks,
What's left of a dwindling Cal fan base

He is doing his job. That's what makes it all the harder to care.

The game has changed. The "revenue sports" are now professional sports, with only a tenuous, and shrinking, connection to educational institutions. You ain't seen nothing yet.

But at least with college basketball, there's some degree of a level playing field. The very best players will still be one and done at the elite institutions as they've always been, but the tournament shows that even small schools can compete to some extent if they have a good coach who knows how to recruit.

Football, that sport is fast on its way to irrelevance. Same 4-6 teams every year fighting for the title and everyone else just meat for those teams.

I'm fine with forgetting about those 4 - 6 teams and enjoying our games against the rest. Same for basketball if it should devolve to that. Except I don't derive much enjoyment from getting hammered by teams near the bottom. Reminds me of an insult I heard as a child (paraphrased): We're so low we have to look up to look down.

Does he not care that he must be the laughing stock of athletic directors EVERYWHERE?

Does he know athletic directors anywhere?

Besides, he is making $1.3 million a year and got an 8 year contract extension while producing the worst results of a major D1 program in the revenue sports. They aren't laughing, they are taking notes.
