Grant Newell is a good player with high upside

Love his mid-range jumper. He is a zone defense buster and has good hoops IQ

His shooting form is good, and just needs to put up a million shots to become a strong 3 point shooter

besides experience, one of the things he needs to take another step upwards is getting in the weight room and getting stronger

I think he has a good shot at the all-freshmen team

Newell is a kid who I can see becoming a very good player if given the right coaching. Hire a top shooting coach as an assistant (Theo?) who can drill him and correct minor mechanics and in 1-2 more seasons he'll be a beast.

Other players who have potential: ND

After watching Askew play, I don't think he is really the 5-star talent he was labeled as in high school, but I can see him being a great PG if surrounded by more weapons and spacers. Honestly, ideally he'd be a guy who could be the leader of a bench unit (a very good one), but we're not close to enough talent to have him sit.

Assuming Hyder, 2K, Joel, Lars, and Clayton are departing, that leaves us with imo, a couple pieces: Sam, who I think is okay and might just need a better coach to unlock some of the potential he's occasionally shown, and Jalen who I don't know what his plans are coming back from injury.
