28 days until March 8th, which is the day we will play our 12vs5 seed game in the Pac 12 tournament, aka hopefully the last game Coach Fox will ever coach for us!

Now I suppose it likely will be 29 days, unless we fire him right after the game. In fact, I did some thinking on this. The 12-seed game is scheduled for 2:30 PM, so that leaves ample time afterwards in the day to terminate him, even though it will likely be at the earliest the next day.

Less than a month left!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

is there a chance Sean Marks steps down in Brooklyn because of the player exodus? Can he be our AD? someone mentioned Abdur-Rahim too. Both in some capacity?

You mean a year and one month. I have zero hope he gets fired.

If CalMBB "turns a profit" this year, he won't be fired. AD uses July as start of new fiscal year so he won't fired until the numbers are in.

And this is why we need all the fans who want fox fired not to go to the games even if it means not showing up for the team. We need the cal bb to turn a huge loss.

If Knowlton waits unti April we will be into the next contract year and he Wil have flushed away an extra $1 million (?) or so that could have been saved if he was fired in March (or February).

Wont matter. Season tickets are paid for. I doubt a non season ticket holder will go.
Go Bears!

Would you care to bet a cyber-beverage on it? I get the "zero hope". My sense that he will be fired is simply based on the fact that, in my 40+ years of being a Cal fan, when the football or basketball team gets this close to rock bottom, the coach has never survived. This time could prove to be the exception, but I strongly doubt it.

I told myself years ago that I will not bet because, like a Mark Fox coached team, I am a perennial loser. So, I am afraid not.

Marks got backed by Joe Tsai against Kyrie and Durant in Brooklyn and just did a real nice job of rebuilding that team on the fly. If he was going to leave it probably was a lot more likely to have happened when Durant demanded he be fired earlier this season.

Aw, you're not a loser!
The only way you'd end up that way was if the Oroville dam had burst and wiped you out.

Good thinking. But neither are Bay Area people.

Literally never won a bet. That's all. Also couldn't resist taking a shot at Fox. Dude needs to go.

That's sad. Let's fix that. I will bet you a cyber-beer that Cal wins the Pac 12 tournament. That is a no lose proposition. Wanna quick fix? I bet Cal wins tonight.

No go. I don't want Fox's extension on my conscience.

Wasn't last year the exception?

I will again remind you that Knowlton had NO PLANS to fire Jones after his second season... which is why we got this fire sale of a hire.

Sure, he coulda/shoulda been gone last year and never shoulda been hired in the first place. But now he's got one less year on his contract and we have sunk even lower, so I'm guessing this is it. I mean, it's gotta be, er, right?

PWB won't bet; you wanna step in for him?

I think all the coaches got their extensions slightly more than a year ago, like when getting through COVID was still a big deal. I wanna say like sometime during Fall 2021.

Rebuilding? The team is in tatters, largely because they signed those two guys in the first place.

Exactly why he shouldn't be the AD. A good AD will know who is out there even if he has a good coach, because that coach might take off for a better job and you need to be ready at all times. Knowlton is incompetent

C'mon, he would know what to do: Within 24 hours, he could have his secretary find the number for that search firm!

God, I'm joking, but that might be exactly what he'd do...

I wonder if I could bribe his secretary to give him my number. Or yours. I have a list. You probably do as well.

It is probably what he'd do. I'm guessing he wouldn't be asking for Monty Buckley's number.

Brilliant idea. We just have to decide whether Knowlton would go for the cheapest deal or if we need to jack up the price so we look elite. We should probably also wear non-stylish suits from Brooks Brothers or something to make him feel comfortable.
