Maybe we get lucky and Fox is out.
Go Bears!

Pulled arm muscles from intense crossing. Strained neck from head shaking. Sore back from hefty bank deposits.

Sure does suck not having a team to root for. An entire class of students have now graduated never seeing even a mediocre Cal team.

Culture killer Fox and his cronies Knowlton and Christ.

I think Cal won just a handful of conferance games during my attendance (1972-1976)…..but I had Joe Roth and Chuck Muncie my senior year AND THAT WAS EPIC!

I hate to admit this, but I didn't attend a Cal hoop game until January 16, 1982, when my bosses, the Ricksen twins, gave me a ticket to the Bears (Mark McNamara) vs Huskies at Harmon. My takeaway from the game: Wow! That Detlef Schrempf kid can ball!

I bought season tickets the 1987-1988 season. My takeaway that first season: Wow! That Keith Smith kid can ball.

I have had season tickets ever since, but have not showed up since March, 2020 when the world shut down.

I went to the last home basketball game with my friend who is graduating this May, as a third-year (to save money). He chose Cal over some other schools primarily because he loved the idea of having big-time D1 sports. I could tell he was pretty saddened that his entire time here was filled with nothing but bad teams. I just felt really bad.

Feel for him and I can assure you there are many many exceptional students who are well rounded and would like to root for a competitive basketball/football team. Huge part of the college experience. Us sucking and moving to tier two conference of that happens will have a negative impact on the students we get. Christ and Knowlton though have made their thoughts on that clear

Cool story! I had the opposite scenario where I came basketball was on the rise (JKidds second year) and football was in rapid descent with Gilby. I did go to the football games and was fortunate to see one big game win and flew to Syracuse to see Tony G I. The sweet 16.

Last game the TV commentator said Clayton suffers from a health condition

Explains why he was out tonight and missed several games during the season (he also has a back injury)

Hope he is going to be okay. He shouldn't risk his longterm health by pushing it too much

I know at least one game they said migraines. Kareem suffered from that condition as well, and so ends the comparison.

Understood, but we aren't catching OSU to improve our seed to #11 so hold Clayton out until Vegas.

Some on the faculty (including some past chancellors) advocated for deemphasizing sports in the believe we could be a West Coast U of Chicago or MIT. Meanwhile, the Southern Branch is overtaking us.
Fire Knowlton!
Fire Fox!
Put Wilcox in a hot seat!

I didn't hear the announcer clearly but he said something much different and more serious

Very true and unfortunate. Great institution being driven into the ground academically and athletically by bureaucrats.
