Another Cal transfer starting for a major basketball program and contributing double figure scoring and second on team in rebounds. I trust there is a plan to stop the bleeding and have a program which keeps good players.

What type of team would Cal had had with Sueing, Bradley, Vanover, and Kelly last year?

I thought we couldn't recruit?

Part of recruiting is keeping the good players you have.

LOL, your obsession with Connor Vanover seems to have surpassed even mine!

Also, who leaked it about the gift cards?!? I told them it was confidential. PM me the name(s)...

Yeah, the people, even Monty, who are pointing at academics and recruiting as an excuse? That was a decent, young core all admitted and doing well academically at Cal (even PAC-12 All Academic).

Sueing and Vanover left within a week of Fox's first speech where Sueing was shown on camera rolling his eyes as Fox was speaking. I was told by a close friend of Sueing Sr. in Hawaii that his son loved Cal, his wife especially loved the academics, but Fox was a huge turnoff. Someone here refuted that and posted that they knew for sure that Fox had nothing to do with Sueing's decision. I still believe what I was told which confirmed what I saw with my own eyes.

Fox has also indicated that he, Bradley and Kelly did not always get along. He benched Bradley his last season at Cal. He threw him under the bus in a post game. After Bradley transferred he said it would be "addition by subtraction." Similarly after Kelly left, before this season, Fox said he "Finally had a group that was fully cooperative." He was glad those guys were gone. The current roster of compliant guys mostly new to the game without a lot of their own basketball knowledge, just glad for the opportunity and scholarship to a great university, was his goal. It was right there for anyone paying attention. I was criticized for merely pointing out he is an authoritarian and that reflects his weakness and insecurity as a coach. He was just a horrible hire and horrible fit for a school like Cal in the 21st century. It was not a "personal attack" as part of an "agenda" it was my honest assessment, with my "agenda" being only the success of Cal basketball and the well being of our players. Oh, and that we don't continue to hand out $millions to guys like Fox and Knowlton to run our athletics programs into the ground.

Without a PG you are probably looking at a middle of the PAC NIT team

Paris was decent and part of that returning core. You have to assume SOME subsequent recruiting.

Not obsessed. Every time he is praised, I counter. For every basket he scored, he conceded 2 or 3 buckets on the other end. His One Note Johnny act is a luxury only good teams can afford. Cal hasn't been that team for a very long time.
The fact some Bear fans still pine for him is a by product of the fact our program is pathetic.

Like most big men, he has improved immensely since his freshman year. He is second in the entire nation in blocked shots. He was definitely a player we wanted to keep.

His productivity in the SEC was almost the same, including more points per minute, but he played far fewer minutes. His advanced stats, adjusted for opponent, would easily make him the best player on this years' Cal team.

Lars will make more money playing in Europe than Connor will.

Lol. Possibly, but only because Lars is a German citizen so he would not take up one of the limited slots for foreigners (Americans). Conor might head to the G-League.

Lars will make the G League before twin pigtail boy does.
Don MacClean on Lars:
"Lars is a load down low. Once he gets the ball down there, he is either scoring or getting fouled. It's that simple."
