I suspect if you could find the team records going back that far, some of the early Cal seasons before 1920 probably didn't have anyone scoring in double digits. Scoring was really low back then. I took a look at the college basketball part of Baseball Reference, but their college basketball records only go back to the 1950s.

I literally don't think it's possible to pick someone worse than Fox.

The thing is, I've seen flashes from Bowser, Okafor, Newell and others. The team should not have been this bad this year; if certain people come back next year and we have a merely competent coach it can be so much better.

No, I'm saying their records only go back to the 1950s. I didn't actually look at the scoring averages for any of the seasons. I wouldn't be entirely shocked if some pre-Newell 1950s season or one of the bad 1960s-1970s-1980s teams failed to have someone average double digits, but it's hard to average much over 50-60 points a game that way and I don't think we had any season with scoring that low.

Agreed. I admire the team for at least appearing to play hard until late in the season despite how much the constant losing and being less talented every game must have ground them down mentally.
