"perhaps a little too fast" .. that was my concern when the hire happened .. it appears that was a real concern ..calumnus said:

I am unaware of search firms, whether in business or in college athletics, that don't do what the client wants. Give a decent search firm the right instructions, the right criteria for candidates, and they will do what you want.Oakbear said:"perhaps a little too fast" .. that was my concern when the hire happened .. it appears that was a real concern ..calumnus said:

I wish I felt that JK was a person to make a good hire
I sort of would like to see a few of the BB alums get together and come up with a very short list and it could include Shareef's brother .. a search firm is expensive and my experience in using them when I was in business was that they only brought 'safe' candidates.. the best hire I ever made was outside a search firm

The answer is 2 weeks after the 18-19's last game. Those were an AWFUL 2 weeks as there were rumors that JK was set on bringing Jones back and then the VERY rushed search process which fealt like JK didn't do any work at the tournament.
I know we are VERY down (good reason) on JK but hope is.....
1) He has long ago decided to make this move. All the rumors about passing the tin cup suggest it (and that clearly has legs cause Mark fox seems to know he is a dead man walking).
2) Given a decision to move on, he has taken the past 2 months to get his list together.
The worry is that it starts and stops with Miles. Honestly he is PRECISELY the kind of Guy that JK would like and which he thinks he could sell to his boss. I can hear "doing it the right way" at Nebraska and the importance of managing a P5 program. Gosh I hope he proves me wrong. Another hope? That hiring another white guy to coach mostly black student athletes will not pass the smell test at Berkeley. God I hope so.

Search Firm: "Does he have to have played ice hockey?'
I am ridiculously depressed. I think it Absolutely fair to look at Nebraska POST miles. Hoiberg is a GREAT coach. With the cubboard Miles left he got 7 wins. We are ridiculously F'ed if Miles is hired and will be looking for ANOTHER coach in 5 years and that really will be a zombie resurection project.calumnus said:annarborbear said:

Miles is from the Dakotas, they love hockey there. Knowlton interviewed him the last time and "the interview went well." Miles is marketing himself as "FEMA" a coach that gets disaster programs to mediocre. I'm sure Knowlton loves that idea, after all, he extended Wilcox out to year 11, not because he thinks he can do better, but because he has been happy enough with the results so far.
Knowlton and sMiles have probably been going to Sharks' games together.
It will be easy. I will get season tickets to the San Francisco Symphonysocaltownie said:I am ridiculously depressed. I think it Absolutely fair to look at Nebraska POST miles.
