If Zona isn't careful they may get Wisconsin-Green Bay-ed like Kidd and Murray did.

Although it would be good to see Zona fall, it would be bad for the league and the local Alloccos will be even more f@ucking insufferable than they normally are.

I haven't followed Arizona basketball much this year, but it looked to me like their PG largely choked this one away. Awful plays by him down the stretch.

How many 5 star players does Princeton have? Hickory can prevail with good coaching.

I will defer to HoopDreams whether Princeton was playing the Princeton Offense or a modified version thereof, or not at all…..but I can assure you that DLS HS and Dick Bennett's Wisconsin -Green Bay were both playing the Princeton Offense when these two statements were made:

Leon Powe about DLS when he played for O Tech HS: "We dreaded playing DLS. It was so boring." I believe DLS clipped Powe at O Tech at least once.

Lamond Murray after Cal's early exit from NCAA's vs WGB, "I just couldn't get up for the competition."*

*Jason Kidd, btw, as usual, played like a fiend in that losing effort.

That is why Cal's excuses outrage me. If they would hire one young smart basketball mind that knows you don't need Mac Allstars to compete and can spot talent, there are players out there that would love to play for Cal.

There are a number of formulas that would work (and have worked) for Cal and some obvious ones that would not (and have not). Unfortunately it seems like our ADs just flip a coin between the two without any clue of what they are doing or learning from more than reacting to the last coach.

…and I'm not greedy…..the kind of ball I would settle for will get you so far and then you hit a buzz saw…like Princeton and the Gaels will. I would settle for getting to the Dance occasionally and winning a game there once in awhile.

Arizona has a history of choking (underachieving) in the NCAA tournament. In 2018 they were a 4 seed and got knocked out by 13 seed Buffalo.

Is this the only really "bad" loss in Cal NCAA Tournament history? I know we lost as a 4 seed but that team was destroyed by late injuries.
