UConn up 53-45 with ten minutes left. Gaels playing with five white boys on the court, FWIW. What century is this again?

Saint Mary's drops 55 on UConn! (70-55 final)

I absolutely do not root for the Gaels, mainly out of petty jealousy, but you have to give them their due. I'd like to see us play them every year, now that we aren't going to suck as much. We could graciously give them one game in Moraga for every two in Berkeley.

Didn't realize that a Hurley coached UConn. Whatever...

You need to watch some Big East BB. Top to bottom (with the exception of my love Gtwon and DePaul) tis much better than Pac10/12.

OK I guess going with the Aussie pipeline has its limits in athleticism. Great season though Randy.

When their top scorer went down with an injury, I believe they were tied around halftime.

They seem to win 20 games every year, with few off court problems, so most people really don't care what the racial makeup of the team is. They recruit locally, in Australia, and I guess also at Catholic programs, so that affects the hue of the team.

"Locally" being east of the Caldecott plus Piedmont and the Peninsula. No players from Oakland, Berkeley, Richmond, Hayward, Vallejo….

You have an issue with his consistent success?

Why are you equating that with his success?

Do you have an issue with teams that are predominantly black or predominantly tall?

I don't have any issues.

I was just giving specificity to your comment that he recruits "locally." Only if "locally" is Orinda and points east and that is very few players. The vast majority of his players are from outside of the Bay Area, but especially from Australia. His Australian pipeline, plus good coaching, is the key to his success. Can't argue with success.

FTR, recently he's recruited from San Diego, Folsom, Seattle, Rancho Cucamonga, Las Vegas and Peoria. And New Zealand and Estonia.
