That is a hilarious story on all fronts and well told by our new Cal Basketball coach!!!

p.s. Shaq once spoke with our youngest son on the phone, I can still hear his words and voice

"yo, little man"

Based on the discussion about making bread, I'm pretty sure he could have a discussion like this with Bill Walton and not even be stoned:

He is really the biggest swagless dork, but oozes an authentic affability that I feel like will endear him to players and their parents.

My hope is he is our Ted Lasso.

My fear is Knowlton just found his Wilcox for basketball. But, yeah, great guy. Straight shooter. Endearing to parents and players.

Haven't watched the new season, but relegation would be deserved, if the WAC would have us.

I am getting to like Mad Dog. At the very least, the boring times of Fox are finished and the interesting times of Mad Dog are starting.

Go Bears!

ok this is pretty awesome - same interviewer ends up chatting with Shaq on the story about helping Madsen buy a car... very good insight into the kind of person Madsen is (and Shaq, for that matter)...

I've heard the extended version of this on the radio with Ralph Barbieri and Tom Tolbert, who were interviewing Madsen.

Shaq takes him into his convertible Mercedes with the music and bass blasting and drive around town to shop.

They go into a clothing store to buy jeans. Shaq tells the clerk, "Give him six of each color." Of course, MM resisted, but I think he relented in some way.

Shaq says to MM, "No teammate of mine drives a minivan." Then proceed to the dealership.
