The names in that article, based on the subsequent reporting, are in fact people who were hired. I assume that the article you mentioned had information in it from sources the reporters were certain was accurate, but had promised confidentiality. I would assume that's why they put it in an article, rather than in a staff post where they also would have indicated the information was just informed speculation. That's also why they initially limited that article, I believe, to the premium board, to provide value for subscribers.
