The crazy thing is that this was obvious in year 2 of Fox. Didn't realize how bad it would end up being until after CoVID, though.

He was a known entity when Knowlton hired him. His opening speech to the team only confirmed it. Everything that followed was predictable and only further confirmed it. COVID was just one of many excuses made to prolong it.

I'm gonna quote myself from the day he was hired. Mark Fox was fired for being too mediocre for Georgia which was one of the most mediocre teams in what at the time was a very mediocre basketball conference. He was never going to be more than extremely mid-tier and he ended up being far worse.

The ceiling on the hire was embarrassingly low and he embarrassed himself and the program by failing to reach even that; he instead chose to burrow through the floor. Good riddance that he's gone and I hope I never have to see him within 100 miles of The University of California campus ever again
