I guess the odds makers looked at all our close loses.
Go Bears!

I think it was 4 1/2 yesterday. Public likes Cal in this one.

I'm kind of surprised Ole Miss is undefeated. Chris Beard is a good coach.

There is a lot of smoke and mirrors behind the undefeated record of Ole Miss. KenPom is rarely fooled, his analytic model has Ole Miss way back at 94th in the country, a low ranking for an undefeated power conference team in mid-December. Ole Miss played seven of their nine games on their home floor, and only won their two road games by a combined three points against Temple and UCF. This is their first neutral site game, and will have their hands full inside. Ole Miss is very guard heavy in their attack, their top for scorers are all 6'6 and under and play on the perimeter. They will not be able to play their style and matchup with Fardaws Aimaq inside. Aimaq is 6'11, 245 and averages a 17-point double-double. Ole Miss does not have the size to slow him down inside. The Cal Bears can keep up with the scoring on the perimeter, as guards Tyson and Cone each score over 17.0 PPG. Cal needs a win before conference season starts, and Ole Miss will be walking in with a false confidence derived from their undefeated record. Aimaq will be the difference maker inside, as Cal covers this spread.

Take Cal to cover.

Prediction: California +3.5
Go Bears!

Thanks.

That write up does not give me confidence. This Cal team has had trouble with perimeter oriented teams.

In hindsight, didn't Ole Miss have a 7'5" rim protector?

"Cal began the day ranked 281st of 350 Division I teams in three-point percentage defense."

Ouch.
