On Wednesday there must have been some scouts watching Tyson and some of the Colorado players. They saw 30 points, 10-15 from the field, 3-5 from three, 7-7 from the line, and the guy who alone broke the Colorado press. He was unstoppable down the stretch, and he was the best player on the floor. In the words of Jalen Cone, Tyson "is a first-round draft pick. And sooner or later, people are going to recognize that." I agree. Cal fans tend to overrate Cal players, but I think he has not been properly appreciated.

Cal's Jaylon Tyson: Went 8-for-8 in the second half with 23 of his career-high 30 points. Tyson also was 7-for-7 on free throws.

Tyson is the best player we've had in a while. He is silky smooth, and can create his own shot.
The only nitpick I have is he gets banged up somewhat easily, but give me 5 Tysons, and I'll give you an NCAA squad.

More than a 1st-rd draft pick, people are gonna have to start giving him attention for P12 POTY if he keeps this up. Long way to go but he's staking his claim this conference season so far

That is not what one scout saw. Tyson was the guy who broke the press by having everyone else clear out. Not having an NBA handle is a ridiculous evaluation. Others will see see it differently. His basically 1-to-1 assist to turnover ratio is bad, but that is partly because Cal's offense is dysfunctional.Shocky1 said:

Plus, they aren't going to ask Tyson to pound the ball and play 1 on 1 to score 20 points a game in the NBA anyway.
