Pac 12 football was fantastic in the final season.

Was disappointed in football Washington's rollover to Michigan, but it was a good way to go out. The real success indicator for Mad Dog and Wilcox will be how they do in recruiting the same pool that the ACC swimming in.
Traditionally we suck at convincing the top 5% recruits to come to Cal… never quite understood why, unless it really is academic standards, but there's got to be something else.
I wonder if the ACC changes all that. Our pitch is, "Hey, you get all of the fame and fortune of playing elite East Coast players and showcasing your stuff for scouts, but none of the terrible weather. And if your family lives on the West Coast or Southwest, you're a lot closer."
Lifestyle, support systems and quality of life issues do matter to the smart 18-year-old. We need a complete reset on recruiting strategies for 2024-2025.

Agreed - usually the 2 leading factors for not closing on top level recruits are 1) NIL packages (Cal doing better in this area, but significantly behind the top 20 programs in each sport) and 2) Academic requirements - countless times I have mentioned local/Bay Area standouts to the coaches in Football mainly/but occasionally basketball - only to be told "would like to have him, but would never be admitted due to grades"). Recruiting is getting better thru increased resources/effort in both key sports, but its tough sledding.
