Few things I've noticed on defense

- Cone has become a better defender, I remember he was getting bounced around by the Butler guy. No longer a liability. They allow him now to guard the perimeter shooters with a big size advantage, or the other teams best guard (Boogie Ellis, Jordan Pope)
- Keonte Kennedy is our best defender and has helped the defense since he's returned (usually guards the teams best overall player)
- Jaylon Tyson typically guards the weakest Forward in the starting 5 (Michael Rataj, Mulcahy). His defense has been great all season
- Celestine guards the best foward (Keion Brooks, Biledeau). He has quick hands and is able to punch the ball out before they get the shot. Only problem is he fouls quite a bit.
- Aimaq has improved since the Colorado game when Lampkin put him on a clinic. When a guard switches onto him, it creates a big mismatch which has only happened a few times.

I think our defense has gotten better because the guys have bought in, but also how we got healthy mid season.

good post. too much emphasize on offense (which is natural)

agree on Cone. I was down on him earlier, but he really bought into the defensive side of the court. There are some matchups that he can't handle (e.g USC's much bigger, stronger guard) and I'm surprised teams haven't posted him up more.

But he locked down Boogie and Pope as you said. I was watching him closely defending Pope who got almost nothing against Cone in the second half.

Celestine has always been a good defender, although his injuries have hurt his speed/quickness. His defensive fundamentals are #1 on the team as he's always in the right place.

Of course Keonte "The Bandit" Kennedy is a great defender picking passes off every game, with another 3 steals vs OSU. He just picked the pocket on one play last night which was a beautiful thing to watch.

Celestine really has a lot of heart. Even on those two breakaway steals you can still see the effects of his injury. His basketball IQ is high and helps compensate for it. Really enjoy rooting for this guy.

Celestine reminds me so much of Theo, and yet seems even more of a talented shooter. We're really lucky to have him.

Agree on all counts regarding Celestine. Way underrated, but now really blooming and INHO he is just getting started.

Also agree regarding Cone, he is relentless, that motor is always running at full speed.

GO BEARS!!
Start Slowly and taper off
