Apple released a new Sports app which is another sign they want to grow their sports streaming push

Nice interface and graphics but looks like it's still in development as there is no college FB yet, and the college MBB and WBB aren't good enough as the most important view is box score, yet they don't include key stats such as turnovers, blocks and fouls

Too bad, because I use ESPN app which is good but bloated

Apple wants to eventually have the capability for users of their sports app who have the necessary subscriptions to be able to connect directly to livestreams of games in progress. But Apple doesn't yet have agreements with the broadcasters to do that, and they may never get those agreements.

ESPN, for example, wants people watching on their phones or tablets to connect to ESPN broadcasts through the ESPN app, not through an Apple app. If a fan uses the ESPN app to connect to a livestream on an ESPN channel, that fan might also look at other places on ESPN's app, and view pages with advertising, thus directing more ad revenue to Disney. ESPN would lose some of those page hits if fans could use Apple's app as a one-stop shop for live sports viewing.

Apple probably even had this app in the works when they were bidding for the pac12 media rights, but surprised they don't yet include college FB
