I rarely ever project a team, but with one Cal game remaining here I go ...

It is head to head then mutual opponents beginning with the 1st place finisher…. My reading is if the above is the finish it would be:
5. Utah
6. Cal
7. UCLA

6th is better than 5th for us (with 4th out of the question), if Arizona finishes first. We need to play with max effort though. Last night was a joke. Altitude is rough, but they were out of both physical and mental shape last night. Pretty annoying that the opponent keys on Tyson and the rest of the teams provides zero help.

If Cal comes in second in the Pac 12 tourney will they likely be ranked high enough to be invited into the NCAA tournament? Probably not, but i thought I would ask. What would their national rank be then? Thanks.

Finishing 6th would be ideal as we play USC, Oregon, then WSU. Not as bad as bumping into Arizona. However, USC has been really good as of late.

As I mentioned a couple of days ago, a USC win over Washington would really help us, (not a prediction, just a wish.) Well it happened, and Hoop Dreams' projection is a solid way to look at next week.

To stay out of eighth, we need one of the following:

1) Beat Furd and have ASU lose one of their remaining two.

2) If we lose to Furd we need Washington to lose their final vs. WSU and ASU lose both to the SoCal schools.

The crazy thing about all of this is that if WSU beats Washington and Arizona loses one of its final 2 games, then finishing 7th would put us right back in Arizona's bracket. What a mess!

Zero chance. We would still have a losing record. There are currently 203 NCAA basketball teams with winning records.

We need to win the PAC-12 Tournament

LOL. As Scotty said, on Star Trek: "Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me. Fool us seventeen times... "

Here's the likely path Cal will take in the tourney (assuming they win @Stanford 6 SEED)

USC, Oregon, WSU, Arizona

In order for us to win, we need a surprise team to upset WSU or Arizona.

Or Tommy Lloyd to do a Monty in the PAC-12 Tournament so he can rest his team up for the NCAAs.
