First of all, I realize that like us Vanderbilt is a team comprised of all new transfer players. So credit must be given to them.
Because last night's game was so similiar to many of our early games last year. Countless amount of turnovers that led to defenseless transition baskets. Last year we eventually trimmed this problem down with a team that had less depth and athleticism. Vanderbilt decided to overplay everything last night unlike the first two teams we played and the Bears could not handle it.
And ironically we did nothing of the sort to Vandy, who was in the same situation as us except of course they were playing at home.
The loss was disturbing, but I'm not ready to pile on Madsen just yet. I know no one likes to hear this but we did play them even the second half. I might be setting the bar low, but many of us agreed we would all be happy with a competitive team. At least we competed in the second half. I'm cautiously optimistic that things will get better.
