Leon at the Salesian-Modesto Christian game last night. Proud papa as Junior made some big plays in the 2nd half in the Salesian win. Had a brief conversation, as always he was gracious and humble. Maybe my favorite Bear of all time

How did LP Jr. look, is he a player? Does Salesian have other talent?

Hi BC

Elias Obenyah, Salesian's 6'5 JR guard has been offered by Cal

Alvin Loving, as noted below is one of only 2 Seniors on the team, going to Yale

Leon Jr starts for Salesian. He's a Junior and has really improved since last year, if he continues he could be a D1 prospect next year

Salesian won the award last year for highest GPA in the NCS, with a cumulative GPA of 4.0. So all these player graduate Cal ready

Some of you know that coach Bill Mellis is not only a Cal alum but was student manager for Campanelli and played for Pete Newell Jr at Santa Cruz. And Bill's father was manager for Pete Newell Sr. And Salesian AD/football coach Chad Nightengale played FB at Cal

Thanks for the info! If Leon Jr. has half the heart of his dad he will go on to do great things.
