Seems the GM bar has been set pretty high. I have no clue if he's involved in decisions or if it's more of a branding thing, but it doesn't get much bigger than that.

Rod, any suggestions on folks who might make a great GM for Cal basketball? You've interacted with some of the greats over the course of your career, both at Cal + professionally. Anyone come to mind? Or, if you can't come up with a list, any attributes you've seen in players that make them great basketball minds and might transfer to a GM role?

Burning another million (or two?) on two GM salaries (football & basketball) plus $$ for their staffs and who knows what extra expenses, sounds like throwing good money after Knowlton bad.
Zero chance that a GM helps either program, probably just creates more layers of disagreement between highly paid coaches and highly paid administrators. Just play the game and let the coaches succeed or fail without interference.
