I thought it was a great game & win! I've watched virtually every game this season & I believe the Bears have come a long way this year. Gives me real hope for the next few years as long as we can return our key players. Cal continues to rebound well and rebound totals were even for the game, but Cal continues to get offensive rebounds that makes a difference when they are shooting well. Also think it's great that they lead the ACC in Free Throws, but would love to see them make a higher percentage of them which would make winning games a little easier.
Beating VT on a neutral site, albeit, on the east coast that should have favored VT, shows me how far Cal has come this year. VT is a team we lost to in Berkeley by 3 points after being behind by 22 points. Truly felt the talent level was pretty even and Cal found a way to win. It was also great to see the return of Andrej Stojakvic to his pre-injury form and he took the team on his shoulders and willed Cal to a win. His 29 points were impressive.
I'm a little concerned for tonight's game as the injury Petraitis played through looks like one that could impact his play tonight. Also hope Wilkinson is ok after taking an elbow to the side of the head. Cal is not a deep team and having our top 5 players available to play the majority of minutes is important. If Wilkinson can return to form and provide another scoring threat it would make it likely we can pull out a win against a good Cardinal team.
Go Bears!
