Haven't had a guard play with this much defensive intensity since Jorge.

His defensive is so dominant it is an offensive factor. His enthusiasm, effort and skill make his teammates better defenders. He makes it very cool to lead the team with his stifling defense.

I certainly like hearing Madsen say that he wants the Bears in the national title hunt, but we are never going to get there without more Jason Kidd's, Lamond Murray's, Shareef's, and NBA talent.

Watching the March Madness this year, it's striking the talent differential between our current Bears and the top teams. Andre would likely be a starter on many of them, but we need Wilkinson to stay and add 6 or more guys who are just as capable.

I'm seriously turned off by the state of college athletics being just a pro league for younger players. I support the players being paid, fully, but the one and done transfers and no building of team chemistry or loyalty leaves me cold as a fan. It's way worse than the NBA or NFL in that regard.

Regarding March Madness, in these later rounds, absolutely can see the talent differential. In the first rounds, with many of the teams, it was less about talent differential and more about coaching - some beautiful basketball being played. When I think of well-coached, fundamentally sound Cal teams I have to go all the way back to the Montgomery years.

You left out the part about how he just committed to Cal! Which I just saw on another site. Nice to see someone coming in instead of everyone going the other direction. But can he contribute at this level?

So far none of the portal transfers could compete in league games except Andre and maybe sisoko. Not optimistic show me.

Well, there was Tyson. Although that was a different conference.

I can't say what kind of player he'll be at Cal, but in this video, dude is freakin menace lol. The enthusiasm and arms everywhere and quick feet. I really enjoyed when his guy would reset to the other side of the floor and while Dorsey would stay between ball and player as he also moved across the court, he would spend a few beats in his "spare time" fronting a post player to help out another defender until he was needed back on his own guy. Very cool.
He proves defense can be fun to watch.

ok, Im ready to root for this guy. Also I saw he played for the Campbell Camels who make the tourney every once in a while and was defensive player of the year. And there are other videos showing defending well against North Carolina, Ohio St., Virginia and others.

We as donors and fans are fully subsidizing the NFL and NBA in terms of player development. They should be forced to fund every college, university (and now high school) involved.

Reminds me of one of those guys at LA Fitness who takes playing defense way too seriously! But in the ACC hell ya we need this.

tenacious defense, closes the gap quickly, can fight through screens and can switch on bigger players

we really missed that this season ... I'd also expect teams will have a harder time with those pull up jumpers giving his length

strong rebounder for a guard

Let's see if he can stay in front of some of the quicker ACC guards

he can help improve our permitter defense which was a big weakness this last season
