10-0 run as Cal races out to 67-44 lead (and incidentally are now covering the point spread).
16 assists!

Dort has improved at the line.
If you believe in forever
Then life is just a one-night stand
If there's a rock and roll heaven
Well you know they've got a hell of a band

Dujuan (DJ) always seems to be having a good time on the bench.

Fullerton seems like a solid team so how far do you have to go back for a Cal thrashing like this?

Pippen has 8 rebounds, 5 assists, and is 9 - 11 from the line

19-2 run! Cal leads76-46 with 7:45 to go.

Cal is playing eight. Trying to figure out which healthy scholarship players have not seen the court. Yeaney, Carr Campbell are injured. Ruff is redshirting.
Looked at roster - Dut and Kocanas have not seen the court.

Bears with only 8 turnovers for the game. That's .... remarkable.

Dorsey reminds me of Casey Jacobsen, except better because he's not a furdie.

This was my first time watching this season. Fun team, much more enjoyable to watch than last season. I know it's hard to make too many conclusions after a few cupcake games, but I like how all the pieces fit together.

I had to miss going to the game tonight because kids. Darn kids!

From all y'all's posts, I woulda thought we barely squeaked by. Please note that, the last several years, we were losing to teams like this.

Yes, 6-26 #351 in Ken Pom last year, but beating them by 28 is what a team with top 50 aspirations is supposed to do.

I've been pleasantly surprised by the team so far this season. I love the team play.
My complaint tonight is with the facilities management, as Haas was much too hot. I shouldn't be sweating while sitting down watching basketball indoors in November, wearing jeans and a t-shirt. I ran into Gordon Bayne & asked if they could turn up the air, and he said there is no AC, no fan, and that there is basically nothing they can do when it is 'hot' outside. He also mentioned that they are *hoping* to put in AC next summer. It was unseasonably warm outside, but it certainly wasn't HOT, so it seems like they should have been able to get it cooler inside than it was.

Agree, it was way too hot inside Haas tonight, and I don't believe it had anything to do with the outside temperature, which was in the upper 60's. Also didn't like the fact only one concession stand open on the main floor staffed by only one person. Plus it was self checkout on 2 very slow computer screens. Are they trying to discourage people from attending?

Enjoy the nice weather. It was snowing lightly today in Louisville and my tour of Churchill Downs was freezing.

So Dai Dai is our certified go to

Honestly, that was apparent in game 1. At least against this level of competition, he's almost unstoppable, and can create his own shot from at least two of three levels, and makes his free throws.

At the game last night.
I know Pippen has been really good but I wish he a little more of a "Jason Kidd" mentality on the offensive end. He has good driving ability but I'd like to see a bit more dishes than shots. Also in the first half there was a play when Camden was posting half way down calling for the ball and Justin had an easy passing lane to feed him but didn't do it. What's the point of Camden establishing position like that if you're not going to feed him?

I'm hoping we get back DJ back sooner than later because against better competition we're really going to need him in the rotation.

I agree, Pippen has shown some selfish play (not to mention 25% FG shooting in the first two games). Yesterday he was better at 5-10, but he has to get it out of his head that he has to jack up 10-15 shots a game, he's not our lead scorer. Give our two big guns, Camden and Dai Dai, more opportunities with floor vision and passing.
I feel for the kid… it can't be easy to live in the NBA shadow of BOTH your dad and your brother, knowing you'll never see the inside of an NBA arena. I imagine that family connection has to affect what kind of decisions you make in your own game, even if it's subconsciously.

Selfish play?! Did you see how many assists Pippen had yesterday? Sure, there's room for improvement, but I wouldn't characterize his play as selfish.

Seems like there are certain talented offensive players, like Pippen( and Stojakovic last year) that just aren't quite equipped with the ability to be equally balanced with both their scoring and their passing. I don't think it's neccessarily because they're selfish, I think some players just don't have the mindset (and sometimes physically the court vision), to play with the purpose that an assist that leads to a made basket is just as good as a made basket itself. It's just an impression that I get when watching Justin's style. I may be wrong, but I think we'll know a little more about it when we start playing better competition.

Pippen is averaging 5.7 assists/game so far. Stojakovic averaged 1.8 assists per game last year.

Pippen's 8th in the ACC in assists per game so far

Fellow posters:

I'm not trying to slam Pippen. What I wrote is just an opinion on what I've seen on the court.

Also, Pippen is playing the point, Stojakovic did not. And using a statistic from a sample size of 3 games is not sufficient. While Pippen may be "8th in the ACC" the truth is teams in the ACC haven't even played each other yet. Justin's numbers have come at home against three teams that are nowhere near ACC level.

Again, I hope I'm wrong, I'm rooting for Justin. And if he plays well against better competition I'll be happy to eat my words.

All the other ACC teams have played teams that are not ACC level, too so his stats are still relevant relative to other conference players

Do you think that perhaps the poor attendance for the game against Fullerton last night at Haas could have been influenced by the nearby Turning Point protest that became very ugly, very fast?

Andrej didn't have a single game with more than 4 assists last season. Pippen has posted 7, 4 and 6 assists in the 3 games so far.

Pippen is pretty undoubtedly a much better distributor than Andrej. You're the one who compared the two in their supposed unwillingness to pass.

You can criticize the types of shots Pippen settles for, and even believe that he could look to pass slightly more than he does...but to compare his willingness to share the ball with Andrej is pretty clearly ridiculous.

Think it was much more likely just a combo of the level of opponent and being on a Monday evening (not to mention the program just has an attendance issue in general right now).

Hopefully our attendance numbers will look much better this year given the programs coming to Haas this season.

No. The attendance last night was about the same as the previous game against CSU Bakersfield. About 1,200.
