We're last in!

We're just outside the bubble at #64, we would need to get to 50 or above for an at-large.

On the plus side, the ACC is highly respected and we now have east coast bias on our side...

we certainly need to avoid losses to Pitt, BC, and GTech...

Key is we are slightly in the top half of the conference.

Going into conference play we could well be 12-1.

9-9 in conference then would be 21-10.

10-8 or 11-7….

I was just joking, but I do think we have a chance. I will be pleasantly surprised if we pull off 12-1 to start. A few of them aren't going to be easy and there's always a chance of an off ight for everybody. If Madsen keeps them focused though, we SHOULD be in a great spot heading into conference play.

Basically, if we can grab some wins against the higher teams in the conference we have a shot. They will look good on a resume to the committee.

I think we're probably still more in the NIT range (at best) this year, but it's not impossible to make a leap.

The ACC tournament will also be decisive, no early exit.

I thought Kansas State was going to be a good loss but they have lost a few in a row.

Yeah, season just started but we are just outside the bubble. Basketball is fun again. Best team since Cuonzo was coach ;-)

The Pac was awesome in football and a huge loss, but being in the ACC in basketball is definitely not a dropoff. It might even help in recruiting.

ACC was a great landing spot. We just need someone to start up a coast to coast supersonic airline.

Where is the Concorde when we need it?

Supersonic commercial jet flights are banned in the USA - the sonic booms are too loud and annoying. That's why the Concorde only went from the East Coast to Europe - all ocean flights.

The conference right now has 8 tourney eligible teams with NCSt at #42 being the 8th in. The high NET rankings bodes well going into conference play, as that ranking "capital" will stay in the conference and get distributed according to the wins and losses.

Now at #51, as of this morning.

UCLA #39
Kansas St. #60

BC and GTech are the last two, cut off in my screenshot.

Columbia is a respectable #84, #2 in the Ivy behind Yale which is pretty high at #44.

The team looked great yesterday against a weak (#361) Morgan St, primed for a competitive game against the team from the UWS. SHOW UP!!!

We're up to #44 today, starting conference play on the right side of the bubble!

If we beat Louisville, we should get to the low 30s and receive votes on the main polls.

Louisville would be a huge win. Coaches poll already has us at #31 (5th in the ACC) jumping NC State, Miami, SMU and Clemson who are our main competitors that we need to beat.

If we beat Louisville, we will most definitely be in the AP Top 25. We might even slip in before the game if a bunch of teams falter. A win here would do wonders for this program. Go Bears.

So is Louisville's

I do think our record is a bit of fool's gold right now, with a weak schedule but a solid win over UCLA. The good news is we played really well against UCLA and that gives me hope that if healthy we might be able to consistently play at a high level and earn or better our current #31 ranking in the coaches poll. Beating Louisville would be even better.
MiZery

Great start but we've had an easy schedule. I don't think we know about this team completely until Louisville. The Virginia road trip is going to be tough. We need to beat V tech.
