Chris Bell has been really tenative in ACC play. He is passing up threes he shot in preseason. Same a Cuse?

But that was the same play as vs ND. Ames to Camden and back to Ames. But this time missed communication
Pippen had a poor game too. Too bad. Fought hard. Tried different rotation. But seems like we just can't win on the road.

Watch the replay…. Ames does a head fake with his arms up, it played a part. I love Dai Dai but he missed all his shots in the last 30 secs.
Pippen could have tied at the buzzer, but the Bball Fates had something else in mind.
well. shoot. played tough too but too many mistakes and too many (offensive) fouls.

I'd feel better if that had been a tough fought game that we just lost, but we looked bad this afternoon. I know this team can play better than that.

My dog house has Chris Bell in it. He has got to be our stretch forward and yet he is passing up shots that he took a month ago. He has to let it fly.

Yep. He scored only 2 points in 22 minutes today. He has become a real liability lately after getting off to a good start earlier this season.

Yes. That wasn't totally on Camden. Ames couldn't pull off his magic like he did vs ND. And the emergence of Ilic is encouraging, but I hope he will continue to improve. Plus the two bigs lineup was interesting. Maybe Camden needs to sit a while until he finds his shooting rhythm again. This team is close but it's just not there.
This was a game we needed to win and it was there for the taking. We have Duke and UNC at Haas next.
If we win one of those we're fine but lose both and then Furd, gonna have to start asking questions about this whole dealcalumnus said:

I wish we hadn't had to play with our hands tied behind our back the whole game. Sure, we choked right at the end, but if there had been half-decent officiating the whole game, we probably would have been in the lead instead of trying to claw our way back.

It would take a miracle for us to beat either Duke or UNC. I just hope we don't get completely blown out in both games. A win against Stanford is a must at this point.
I don't hate this loss, even though we really needed it going into the Carolina Crash next week.
You could sit here and say, geez, we gave away a bunch of opportunities to win it and Camden sucks, so on and so forth.
Or you could say we came within one shot of tying a game with a good ACC team. It's a team that beat another team (UVA) that just blew us out, so are we really saying we <b>should</b> have won this game? It was always going to be 50-50, we just got the wrong 50 today.
We can learn a few things:
- Camden should not start…. he may need to see limited minutes until his shooting touch comes back (if it comes back).
- We need some kind of solution for the lack of bench production. When you take out Ilic we got 9 points total from the other guys, definitely not good enough. I am not for giving Kocanas and Campbell floor minutes just because they're warm bodies, experiment with different combinations.
- There may be more to Ilic than previously thought. Today he nearly equaled Dort's stats line (10 points). How can he contribute more?
Let's not be Cassandras about this, it was a good effort and we just need to figure out how to close the door in the last 5 min.

The simple answer is that Camden plays better against Dominican, Morgan State, Columbia, Presbyterian et al than against ACC talent who expose his lack of athleticism and inability to create his own shots
