Some have agonized over not getting in to the ncaas. NC state got in and lost in the playoff game. Year over . Yeah, we could have been them but I am not sure we would have won . Probably we are in a tournament we have a chance of advancing in.
I recall in 1986 how excited everyone was when Cal was invited to the Nit i had to stand in a long time in hopes of getting tickets before they sold out .

Making the ncaas would show more improvement. Making the Nit shows improvement Go and support the team. It could be fun

+1. Making the NIT shows the program is capable of reaching the post season and hopefully gives the staff something to sell both to recruits and donors since NIL is key. Hopefully it also shows Cal marketing they have a product they can sell - reading the comments from season ticket holders about their experience has been shocking!

Another reason to support this team - it's the last you'll ever see them! It is highly probable it will be yet another entirely new club next season. Bummer, because I enjoyed watching this team - flaws and all.

Besides, really only one or two posters are agonizing over the NCAAs - the majority knew Cal was NIT bound after the loss to Pitt at home.

I am delighted with our improvement this year, happy we're in the NIT and headed to the Haas tonight!

That said, I think a team gets tons more attention from being in March Madness for only 4-5 days than they would for even winning the NIT.

The 11-seed play-in games are not preferred landing spots in March but that NC State/Texas nailbiter got way more views than any NIT games will get, especially ours

What would be optimal is to play on Fridays and Sundays, because traffic is less on Friday, and it's the start of the weekend, so staying out late is less of an issue. That's obviously a non-starter for the NIT, because they have to stay out of the NCAA's way, but it might get me back to buying season tickets. Living in San Jose, midweek games are impossible. I've told the ticket office that they should sell a package that includes just weekend games and games during Thanksgiving and the Christmas-New Years holidays, which got the usual non-response.
